In some areas, it can be as bad as drinking the same water as a dead body.
But the dryness and poor visibility has put a dent in people’s appetite for the staple Chinese food, which is widely considered one of the most delicious and healthy things to be eaten.
But that may soon change, with authorities introducing a ban on the use of plastic bags in shops and banning sales of plastic bottles in supermarkets.
In the capital, Beijing, for example, the local government said plastic bags and other waste containers would be banned from businesses from March 1.
China’s National Tourism Administration has also banned the sale of plastic food containers from January 1, and the government has been pushing retailers to reduce the use by 50 per cent by May 1.
A survey by the Chinese magazine New Era in December found that 74 per cent of respondents said they were worried about plastic bags being recycled.
A number of retailers, including those that make and sell home-made goods, have also begun to remove their plastic bags from shelves.
This is despite the fact that the plastic bags are still the most popular food container in China.
It is estimated that the use has risen to more than 80 per cent in Beijing and Guangzhou in recent years.
And the popularity of plastic has soared since the Chinese government introduced its ban on plastic bags.
China is now home to a growing number of people who use plastic bags to make their everyday items, including toilet paper and shampoo, according to the government.
China has long been criticised for using plastic bags for food and drink, but many consumers have complained about the quality of the material.
Some Chinese have even said that they prefer the taste of plastic to the taste and smell of traditional Chinese food.
The government has also announced that plastic bags will be banned at the Chinese embassy in the United States from January 31.
In February, China banned the use for food, clothing and cosmetics of plastic products and packaging that is made from plastic.
Plastic bags and their packaging are considered harmful to the environment.
China said it would introduce more measures to prevent waste and environmental damage from the plastic used in plastic packaging.
