MarketWatch is reporting that the U.S. stock market has been hit by a rare “flash crash” that has caused a number of companies to report huge losses.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 754.50 points, or 0.1 percent, to 20,936.95, the S&P 500 lost 5.56 points, 0.3 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 11.43 points, 1.2 percent.
