The NFL offseason is set to begin with the trading deadline, and for the first time this season, a player will be traded.
Here’s a list of all 32 players who have been traded and why:• Quarterback Russell Wilson has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a third-round draft pick and a 2018 fifth-rounder.
He will become Seattle’s third quarterback to leave Seattle since the franchise relocated from Seattle to St. Louis in 1995.• Running back DeMarco Murray and wide receiver Jordan Matthews are expected to be released by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles, who were the top team in the NFL for three of the past four seasons, will use the fifth-round pick to select Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer in the first round.
Kizer, a sixth-round prospect, has struggled to earn playing time in his first two NFL seasons.
He has one touchdown and two interceptions in his two starts.• Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is expected to return to the Houston Texans after missing the first eight games of the season because of a knee injury.
Hopkins has three catches for 36 yards in four games.• Safety Reggie Nelson is expected back from a knee contusion in time for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Raiders waived Nelson last week.• Defensive end Elvis Dumervil has been waived by the Miami Dolphins.
Dumervin had been with the team since Week 10.
He was the Dolphins’ No. 2 edge rusher and second-team all-pro last season.• Cornerback A.J. Bouye will sign a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The No. 1 cornerback in the draft this year, Bouye has struggled in his second NFL season.
He had three interceptions in two games before his injury.• The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Marquise Goodwin.
The Miami Herald reported that the Dolphins had made Goodwin a free agent after trading for him in February.
